We make every dollar count, and your support will contribute directly to documenting and analyzing abuses, litigating human rights cases, and organizing survivors.

Why Donate Now?

"I want a government that is accountable to its citizens. I should receive justice. [My son] was tortured to death."
-Mohinder Singh

We are fighting time:

  • Key cases have advanced to the higher courts. These cases will set national precedents and we must support them.
  • Accused police officers have been promoted to senior positions. We must remove them from power.
  • Key evidence is lost each year as survivors die, memories fade, and documents are destroyed. We must capture this evidence before it is gone forever.

Our partnership with you has demonstrated that a focused vision combined with real resources can accomplish what many said was too difficult.

Ensaaf's courageous work gives a voice to the disappeared and killed in Punjab, and proves that a few dedicated individuals can challenge powerful forces of impunity and hold them to account."

Donate Your Vehicle

Ensaaf is accepting donations through Cars for Causes (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization). You can remove your license plates before donating the vehicle. Upon release of your vehicle, you will sign a release of liability and will receive a receipt. Cars 4 Causes will then proceed to sell your car. The amount that is eligible for tax deduction is the gross sale amount of the vehicle. Ensaaf will receive 70% of the net proceeds. Read FAQs by Cars 4 Causes, or email us with any questions. Visit Ensaaf's custom donate page on Cars 4 Causes.

Use GoodSearch.com, Amazon Smile or GoodShop.com

GoodSearch.com is a Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half of its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities chosen by its users. Amazon Smile allows Amazon shoppers to direct 0.5 percent of their purchase totals at the e-commerce giant toward a charitable organization of their choice. Amazon will then donate the money on behalf of its customers. GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall that donates up to 37 percent of each purchase to your favorite cause. Hundreds of stores including Amazon, iTunes, Target, Best Buy, eBay, Macy's, and Barnes & Noble have teamed up with GoodShop.

Planned Giving

Planned giving is a common avenue for donors to leave a legacy by thinking and giving beyond their lifespan. Indeed, in 2005, total bequest giving totaled $17.44 billion! One of the many benefits of planned giving is that it consists of several financial tools that can be adapted to the specific needs of each donor.

Wills

Naming charitable organizations in one’s will is perhaps the most common way to take advantage of planned giving. A charitable bequest can be included during the initial drafting of your will, as well as through a codicil, a separate document that amends an existing will. Please consult an attorney to adapt the language to your individual circumstances. All charitable bequests are fully deductible from your gross estate.

Life Insurance

If you own a life insurance policy that is no longer needed for the protection of your family, you may use it to make a gift to Ensaaf. One option is to make Ensaaf both owner and irrevocable beneficiary of the policy, which would entitle you to an income tax deduction based on either the total value of the premiums paid, or the cash surrender value, whichever is less. An alternative is to name Ensaaf beneficiary of a policy you receive through your place of employment. In this case, Ensaaf would be a recipient of a specified portion of the policy's proceeds.
